A host of musical stars will perform at the London Olympic Arts 2012 Festival, a cultural celebration across Britain, which is being held from June 21 to September 9, 2012.
The fest will include BBC Radio 1 show, which will feature free live music concert on June 23–24. The concert will include line-up of eminent artistes such as Jay-Z, Rihanna, Flo Rida, David Guetta, Jessie J, Lana del Rey, Leona Lewis, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Florence and the Machine, Dappy and Jack White amongst others in its six stages.
The fest will host an opening night concert co-produced by Jude Law who is an ambassador of Peace One Day organization. The group will also host a concert by Elton John in September at Wembley Arena in London, which will mark the closing of the festival.
The event includes 12,000 events and performances across the UK with a budget of around £55 million ($86 million). It is considered as a chance to showcase Britain's cultural heritage and celebrate the ‘Summer and Paralympic Games.’ The festival will also showcase events related to film, theater, fashion, dance and art. It will mark as the finale of the Cultural Olympiad that was started in 2008 to inspire creativity in all forms. According to organizers, 18 million people have taken part in the fest so far.
