12 People Named for 'Shiv Gaurav' Awards in Mumbai on April 25

A rag picker and a garbage collector are among the 12 persons who have been selected to receive the coveted 'Shiv Gaurav' award at a function in Thane, Mumbai on April 25, 2012.

These awards are given to enterprising entrepreneurs drawn from all corners of the state for their outstanding performance in various fields.

Those selected this time include: Dhananjay Datar (who runs a business in supply of Masala and other materials in India and abroad, and has set up a total of eight super markets in Dubai and India); Dr Sripad Khedekar (who has Homeopathic clinics in India and Europe); Vijay Khatu, a sculptor of international repute; Vrushali Vaidya, who owns a dairy in Panvel and employs more than 1000 needy people.

The awardees have been handpicked based on their performance and spirit to sustain themselves.
