Women's Performing Arts Festival Begins in Pondicherry

Forty artistes from various countries would present performing arts programs from March 11-15, 2012 in Pondicherry, marking the celebration of the International Women`s Performing Arts festival.

The events are being organized jointly by the Department of Tourism, Alliance Francaise and Aurodhan Gallery.

The events would be held in Auroville, Gandhi Thidal in the heart of the town and Alliance Francaise.

Deputy Director of Tourism department Subramanian said this was for the first time that such an event was being held here and the purpose was to bring to focus cultural features of different countries.
