Wild and Scenic Film Festival in Madison From March 13

River Alliance of Wisconsin is geared up to hold its Wild and Scenic Film Festival at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin, United States on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 7 pm. Doors for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival will open at 6 pm. An after party will begin at 9 pm.

This year's films highlight the breathtaking beauty of nature and the passion of those who fight to protect natural resources. Films vary from a few minutes to a half-hour. They include such selections as "A Liter of Light" and "One Plastic Beach," stories about those who use their ingenuity to bring light and beauty to their worlds. "Chasing Water" and "Seasons: Winter" celebrate rivers.

Resources protection is the focus of "Deep Down's People Power Series: Mountain Roots" and "Marion Stoddart: The Work of 1,000." "The Wolf and the Medallion" is a semi-animated letter home from a rock-climbing father to his 4-year-old son. In "eel*water*rock*man," viewers will see the last man on the east coast who still fishes for eels using an ancient stone weir.

Tickets cost $10 in advance, $13 at the door. For $25, guests will receive access to the screening and after party, free food and a beverage and a one-year membership to the River Alliance of Wisconsin. Visit barrymorelive.com or call (608) 241-8633 for tickets.
