Salem Film Fest in Massachusetts Begins

The fifth edition of Massachusetts’ biggest documentary film festival “Salem Film Fest 2012” kicked off at CinemaSalem in Salem, Massachusetts, United States on March 1, 2012. The documentary film festival will run through March 8.

This year’s screenings are centrally focused in downtown Salem in three venues within a block of each other: CinemaSalem, the Peabody Essex Museum and the National Parks Visitor Center.

Salem Film Fest 2012 features a score of US, East Coast, New England and Massachusetts premieres of work, including documentaries featuring music, politics, adventure and family programming.

The roster includes 32 films, short subjects as well as several panels with attending filmmakers and major industry representatives. Eighteen of the 32 films in this year’s festival are directed by women.

All Access Passes ($100/85) and individual tickets ($10/8) for all screenings are available through the festival website (salemfilmfest.com) and at CinemaSalem.
