National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington From March 20–April 27

Washington, DC is geared up to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the National Cherry Blossom Festival with five weeks of spectacular events from March 20 to April 27, 2012.

This annual event commemorates the gift of 3,000 cherry blossom trees from Japan to the United States as well as the enduring friendship between the two countries. It is also a time to marvel at the beautiful blooms, celebrate and participate in dozens of fun activities and events.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual city-wide event featuring more than 200 international cultural performances and over 90 other special events. From arts and exhibits to cuisine and sports, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
