Kerala Plans Road Shows in 23 Countries to Woo Tourists

The Kerala Tourism is planning to hold road shows in 23 countries to attract prospective investors as participants at the "Emerging Kerala" event, which is scheduled to be held in Kochi from September 12-14, 2012.

"Emerging Kerala" has been designed to take the state on a speedier development path through new projects. The government has requested Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to inaugurate the event.

"Through this event we will showcase Kerala to the world that the immense possibilities that our state offers for investors. We have not at all been utilized by investors and through this, the image of our state is going to change," Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said after launching the "Emerging Kerala" website on March 9, 2012.

The state government is planning to invite foreign diplomats to the event.
