Gulzar Now a Doctorate in Urdu Literature

Maulana Azaad National Urdu University (MANUU) in Hyderabad has recently honored legendary poet, lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar with Honorary Doctorate in Urdu Literature.

Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal presented the doctorate to Gulzar at the fourth convocation of the University.

The MANUU also conferred honorary doctorates (Honoris Causa) to former chief justice of Supreme Court Justice A H Ahmadi, chairman of the Indian Council for Social Science and Research, Sukhdev Thorat, former MANUU VC Mohammad Shamim Jairajpuri.
