Delhi Hosts 17th European Union Film Fest

The 17th edition of European Union Film Festival kicks off at the British Council, Kasturba Gandhi Marg in New Delhi. The fest will go on till March 25, 2012. The theme of this year's festival is “Europe in Love.”

The festival kicked off with the screening of the UK film by Terence Davies, The Deep Blue Sea at the British Council in New Delhi. My Queen Karo (Belgium), Aching Hearts (Denmark), Romantics Anonymous (France), Something more about Love (Bulgaria) are some of the films to be screened in the coming days. The festival will end with a film from Luxembourg, Bride Flight.

After the films are screened in Delhi, the festival will travel to six other cities in India – Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa and Hyderabad.

The European Film Festival is organized by the Delegation of the European Union and the embassies of the EU member states in India in collaboration with a number of partners: Alliance Francaise, British Council, Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Federation of Film Societies of India, Suchitra Film Society and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Indo-Cine Appreciation Foundation, Cine Central Calcutta, Entertainment Society of Goa, etc.

March 17: “Meekness” (Romania) 2.30 p.m. “Personal Baggage” (Slovenia) 4.30 p.m. Romantics Anonymous” (France) 7p.m.

March 18: “Chameleon (Hungary) 2.30 p.m. “Sonny Boy” (Netherlands) 4.30 p.m. “You Kiss Like God” (Czech Republic) 7 p.m.

March 19: “A Friend of Mine (Estonia) 6 p.m. “Kont Diga” (Malta) 8 p.m.

March 20: Dear Alice (Sweden) 6 p.m. Something More About Love (Bulgaria) 8 p.m.

March 21: Black, Brown, White (Austria) 6 p.m. If You Love (Finland) 8 p.m.

March 23: My Queen Karo (Belgium) 6 p.m. Aching Hearts (Denmark) 8 p.m.

March 24: Tadas Blinda, The Legend is Born (Lithuania) 2.30 p.m. Touch of Spice (Greece) 4.30 p.m. Apricot Island (Slovenia) 7 p.m.

March 25: Beauty and the Paparazzo (Portugal) 2.30 p.m. Weddings and Other Disasters (Italy) 4.30 p.m. Bride Flight (Luxembourg) 7 p.m.
