The annual Basantotsav-2012 (spring festival) will begin from March 3-4, 2012 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Governor Margaret Alva will inaugurate the event at the Raj Bhavan.
A tiny yellow flower called 'Fyuli,' which grows in the wild in Uttarakhand, has been chosen for the special first day cover of the postal stamp to be issued by the postal department on the occasion.
The entry for the event would be free.
A painting competition for school children will also be held during the two-day event.
