Seiko Launches Luxury Watch ‘Ananta’ in India

Japanese watch-maker Seiko launched its exclusive collection of luxury watches Ananta, in the price range of Rs 1–5 lakh per piece in India on Feb. 1, 2012.

The designs are inspired by Katana, the ancient art of Japanese sword making. Katana sword is a single sided, curved blade designed to be drawn from its scabbard and used in a single motion.

Vice president of the company, Niladri Mazumder, said the spring drive mechanism used in the collection is the most important technique created by Seiko since the Quartz Astron in 1969.

The company, that operates 250 stores across 61 Indian cities, plans to open 10 exclusive Seiko boutiques across the country in the next three years.
