Mozilla has launched the latest version of its browser as per its accelerated six-week plan. The new version is a traditional Firefox silent update infused with all the desired components, particularly the disabling of incompatible add-ons and advancement of the compatible ones. Add-ons from Firefox 4 or later will now be compatible with Firefox 10.
When Mozilla launched Firefox 4, it introduced automatic marking of add-ons as compatible, though this feature was limited only to the extensions distributed through Mozilla’s website. Firefox 10 has extended that feature to add-ons that are not from Mozilla.
Mozilla planning to complete silent update with Firefox 13, reported to launch on June 5.
Alongwith Firefox 10, Mozilla will also launch Firefox 3.6.26, a security update for its two-year-old browser. Firefox 3.6 will retire from support in late April, but two more updates are set to launch before that happens.
