The annual international firework display contest and festival will be held on the coast of Vancouver, Canada from July 28 to August 4, 2012.
Titled “Sac mau Da Nang” (The Color of Da Nang), the event will see the participation of five teams including David Whysall International Fireworks from Canada, Dragon Dancing Fireworks from China, Jacques Couturier Organization from France, Parente Fireworks from Italy and Da Nang Team from the host country, Vietnam.
Vietnam will perform on July 28, followed by Brazil on August 1, and Italy on August 4.
Over 16,000 tickets will be released for sale nationwide for the festival. Tickets for grandstands C1, C2 and C3 along the river will be for sale from VND200,000 to VND300,000. The ticket price for visitors enjoying the firework performances from boats will be VND300,000.
24 domestic enterprises have registered as sponsors for the event with the total amount of money collected being VND27.6billion (US$1.4million).
First launched in 1990, the event is one of Vancouver's largest and most well known festivals. The multiple-day event has an estimated annual attendance of 1.4 million people.
