IGNOU Launches New Website on Republic Day

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new and improved website, with easy access to regional centers, in New Delhi on India’s 63rd Republic Day, Jan. 26, 2012.

The website has a better look, easier accessibility and more user-friendly. The new website was developed jointly by Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) and the varsity's computer division.

The inauguration was done by Vice Chancellor M. Aslam after unfurling the tricolour at the campus on Republic Day. The vice chancellor further said that all regional centers of IGNOU would soon have their own buildings.

"The university is planning to a 24-hour mini hospital with facilities like ENT, dental and cardiac treatment. We will soon have regular medical check-up of all employees to keep them healthy," said Aslam.

IGNOU has a presence in 43 countries. The Universities of Berkley and Maryland in the US have shown interest in faculty exchange with IGNOU.
