USA: Showtime Cancels Dec. 31 Boxing Event

Showtime TV network pulled the plug on its scheduled Dec. 31 edition of "Showtime Championship Boxing."

The main event was to have featured light heavyweight titlist Tavoris Cloud (23-0, 19 KOs) against former titleholder Zsolt Erdei (23-0, 19 KOs), who withdrew because of a hand injury.

Also canceled is the 122-pound title fight between Rico Ramos (20-0, 11 KO) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (8-0, 6 KO), which has now been postponed twice, as it was originally going to take place on the Cotto vs Margarito card on December 3.
