Fourth Edition of Bangalore Nano Starts From Dec. 8–9

The fourth edition of Bangalore Nano will be held from December 8 to December 9, 2011. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Nanoscience and Technology at the Cutting Edge.’

A special program, ‘Nano for the Youth’ is being held with an objective to bridge the gap between students and scientists.

For the first time, pre-conference tutorials will be held on December 7, offering an in-depth knowledge to postgraduate students and young researchers entering the field of nanotechnology.

A panel of experts comprising Prof Umesh Waghmare from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Prof Ajay K Sood from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Prof Krishna N Ganesh from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune, will share with students key aspects of nanotechnology and the excitement that lies in research on nano.

Of the total 160 entries from the best of institutions like IISc, JNCASR, IITs, NCBS and international Universities, 115 young scientists and researchers are selected to present their innovations in the ‘poster session’.

The event, including presentations, discussions as well as interactive networking programs, will be a meeting place for the nanotech community. It will bring together global scientists, industrialists, academicians and government bodies.
