Bangalore: Aristophanes's Famous Play ‘Lysistrata’ at Jagriti on Dec. 3

Jagriti auditorium in Whitefield Bangalore on Dec. 3, 2011 will showcase ‘Lysistrata,’ which is a play written by Aristophanes, the father of comedy. Lysistrata was first produced in Greece in 411 BC.

It revolves around Lysistrata, a young woman who is tired of seeing the young men of her village die in 'useless wars all the time.' She gathers the women of her village as well as those of neighboring tribes and holds them to an oath -- as long as the men keep on warring, as long as women keep losing lovers and husbands and sons, no woman in Greece will willingly make love.
