In an effort to improve science broadcasting via various media, a five-day workshop will be held at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), from November 14-18, 2011. The experts will cover topics like common ground between scientists and media professionals, science communication via community radios, science policy and research, and nature of science programming.
Speakers include renowned cosmologist and astrophysicist Jayant Narlikar, who deliver a talk on 'Role of science fiction in science popularization,' and TV Venkateswaran, scientist, Vigyan Prasar, will address the audience on 'Strategies for science communication.'
Participants will include filmmakers, who have done or are interested in science-related films, radio broadcasters, television producers and also faculty and students from FTII's television wing.
