Manipur Sangai Festival 2011 Concludes Today

The Manipur Sangai Festival 2010, organized by Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur, kicked off on Nov. 21, 2011 at Hafta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound, Imphal, Manipur, India.

The inaugural function of the festival was graced by land, revenue, environment and forests minister Th. Debendra, tourism minister TN Haokip, health minister Ph. Parijat and agriculture minister N. Loken as the chief guest, president and guest of honor respectively.

Some of the main attractions of the festival are cultural shows of different communities, adventure tours, para-sailing, power-gliding, BMX show and other entertainment programs.

Many other entertaining items like Fashion Shows, Rock Shows, Theme District Days, Local Delicacies, Multi-color Cultural Shows, etc. have been organized to attract domestic and foreign tourists to the Festival.

Sangai is an annual festival that was started in 2010 and received good response from the people in the state. It generated a revenue of Rs 3 crore for the state.
