Tokyo International Film Festival Kicks off From Oct. 22-30

The 24th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) opens at its main venue in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills on Saturday, Oct. 22 and will run until Oct. 30, 2011. A special program will take place in Sendai on Oct. 25.

TIFF features films from Japan and around the world. This time, it will showcase about 130 official screenings, and when offerings from joint sponsorships and tie-ups are included, this number rises to about 220.

In the main competition section, 15 films will vie for the $50,000 Sakura prize, before the festival wraps with baseball drama "Moneyball," starring Brad Pitt.
