Darlington Police Plan ‘Drug Take-Back Event’ on Oct. 29

The Darlington Police Department in UK, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be participating in the National Prescription Take-Back Initiative.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at Walgreens, 1005 S. Governor Williams Highway, Darlington, UK. It is being held in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program.

Unused prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold, and unused drugs that are flushed contaminate the water supply.

Members of the public are asked to bring all unused or expired prescription medications to this event for proper disposal, no questions asked.
