DUMRU - The Drum Festival of India in Pune From Nov. 23-25

India’s first and only drum festival DUMRU is organized in the month of November in Pune, India. The season 1 was introduced in September 2011, to an audience of 24000 people who came to watch their favorite and India’s most prolific Drumming sensations in action.

On November 23, 2012, the season 2 of this unique rhythm festival will kickstart at the ILS Law College Ground in Pune. More than 50 Artists from all over India and the world will fly into Pune and they have promised some mind boggling entertainment

Artists like Vidhvaan Vikku Vinayakram, Guru Karaikudi Mani, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Ustad Fazal Qureshi, Talvin Singh, Sivamani, Greg Ellis from USA, Pete Lockett from UK, Bondo Fernandes from Goa, V Suresh, N Amrith, Bhavani Shankar, Sridhar Parthasarthy, 16 Folk Artists from Rajasthan from Jodhpur RIFF, 10 Tribal drummers from Goa, 5 body drummers from Kolkata are some of the attraction of DUMRU.

September 24, 2012

6:00 pm - Fazal Qureshi with Pandit Bhavani Shankar, Shri Sridar Parthasarthy, Shri Rajaram and Shri Navin Sharma
7.15 pm - Rajasthani Folk Artists from Jodhpur Riff with Pete Lockett
8.45 pm - Guru Karaikudi Mani featuring V Suresh, N Amrith and Gururaj

November 25, 2012

6:00 p.m. - Bondo Fernandes - featuring Goan Tribe Rhythms
7.15 p.m. Talvin Singh - Evolution of Tabla and its Development
8.30 p.m. Sivamani - with his biggest set ever
9.15 p.m. - Finale - Taal Inc, Bickram Ghosh, Bondo, Talvin Singh, Sivamani and Pete Lockett

Venue:

ILS Law College Ground, Pune

Tickets range from Rs 150 to Rs 600 per day per person or Rs 300 to Rs 1200 for three days per person.
