India Celebrated Vishwakarma Puja on Sept. 17

Hindus pay tributes to Vishwakarama—the Lord of Engineering—on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja on Sept. 17, 2012. People from different technical and non-technical sections of the society gathered to offer prayers to the Lord seeking a technical snag-free year.

Staff members of government as well as private establishments took part in the puja festivities. At different power sub-stations, power department staff gathered since Monday morning on Sept. 17, where the idol of Lord Vishwakarma was kept and puja performed amidst recitation of mantras.

On this day all the workers in the workshops and offices worship their tools and instruments in front of Lord Vishwakarma, which are generally used in their profession.

Vishwakarma Puja is mainly celebrated by industrial houses, artists, craftsman and weavers.
