Pak to Host Tent-Pegging Event After 8 Years

The capital of Pakistan, Islamabad will host a three-day tent-pegging competition, an event that is being organized after eight years. The competition is being organized by Capital Development Authority (CDA) from March 16, 2012.

"This is a very serious event and a large tract has to be cleared of stones and pebbles, besides the spectators' area has to be managed properly in view of safety requirements," an official said.

CDA organized the last tent pegging competition in 2004, but private groups have held tent pegging events at a smaller scale.

The organizers expect participation from around 80 teams.

Tent pegging is an age-old military skill.
