Guwahati International Trade Fair Kicks off

The 19th edition of International Guwahati Trade Fair (IGTF) kicks off at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre near Balaji Temple in Guwahati, Assam on Feb. 1, 2012. The 14-day international trade fair, which runs through Feb. 14, has been organized by the Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam (ITFAA).

The 19th IGTF will be the biggest-ever trade exposition being witnessed by the people of Northeast India. It will showcase delicate handicraft, jute and indigenous products from 10 foreign countries including Egypt, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, UAE, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ghana, Kenya and Nepal.

More than 50 companies from Bangladesh, 30 from Thailand and over five from Nepal are participating in the fair. Government undertaking companies from Afghanistan and UAE will be participating in any trade exposition in Northeast India for the first time.
