Anoushka Shankar Live in Bangalore Today

Famous British Indian sitar player Anoushka Shankar, daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar, is all set to perform live at UB City, Vittal Mallya road, Bangalore on Jan. 22, 2012.

Travelling to India in early 2012 to regale her legions of fans with her new album aptly titled “Traveller,” this world acclaimed musician has the been making giant strides in the music industry the world over.

Anoushka’s latest offering and her sixth album, “Traveller” combines the ardently blazing and hypnotic music of Spain with the dynamic and vivid Indian notes. Traveller follows the gypsies’ journey from their roots in Rajasthan, across the continent to their new home in Spain. The project, which Anoushka calls a “raga flamenco journey,” originated with her wish to retrace the 1000-year-old bond between Indian and Spanish musical traditions.

Anoushka presents a stupendous show with her handpicked Indian and flamenco musicians and urges her fans to make the journey along with her.
