Agra Fest Taj Mahotsava Postponed

The annual Agra Taj Mahotsava cultural extravaganza has been postponed due to the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

The festival was scheduled to be held from Feb. 18–27, 2012. It's a 10-day event that was launched in 1993. If postponed this year, it will be the first time that Agra would not host it.

The district authorities said the postponement was considered because there would be additional work load and pressure on administrators and security personnel due to the January-February elections.
