Paris: Unifrance Launches Online Festival From Jan. 12–Feb. 1

Unifrance’s second annual interactive online festival MyFrenchFilmFestival.com will kick off on Jan. 12 and run through Feb. 1, 2012 in Paris, France.

Ten feature films and 10 short films will be entered in separate competition sections focusing on the next generation of young French actors and actresses. The fest is also expanding to other Francophone territories outside of France with films from Quebec that will screen out of competition in partnership with Telefilm Canada including Bisaillon’s La Verite.

Internet viewers can all vote for their favorite movies and the winner will receive the Audience Award. Other prizes include an international press award and another prize voted upon by 100 influential twitter and facebook users. The three feature films and three short films selected will all screen on board Air France flights for six months as of June 1, 2012.

Highlights from this year’s selection include Rebecca Zlotowski’s Belle Epine starring Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol star Lea Seydoux, Mariana Otero’s documentary Entre Nos Mains and La Reine des Pommes from Valerie Donzelli whose Declaration of War is France’s bid for an Oscar.
