Odisha: World's Biggest Santa Clause on Puri Beach

World renowned sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik created a 35-ft high Santa Clause, considered to be the highest Sand Santa Clause in the world, on the occasion of Christmas on the Puri sea beach in Odisha with a message “Peace and Prosperity, Health and Happiness.”

Patnaik created it with the help of 15 students of his Sand Art Institute and about 100 laborers, who worked for over 12 hours a day for two days and completed the sculpture using 1800 tons of sand in the evening on Dec. 24, 2011.

His team also created sand sculpture of Jesus Christ and Mother Marry.

Sudarshan has already created 8 records in Limca Book of World Records for creating longest sand Santa Clause, biggest Jesus Christ, 100 Santa Clause, Number of Sand Taj Mahal and others.
