Georgia: Annual Hanukkah Celebration in Augusta From Dec. 20–28

Annual Hanukkah celebration, sponsored by Chabad of Augusta, will feature a car menorah parade, Hanukkah songs, latkes, a pyrotechnic show and gifts for children from Dec. 20–28, 2011.

The celebration will start at 6.30 pm at Augusta Common, Georgia, United States. Participants in the free event will light a 7-foot menorah, sing Hanukkah songs and eat latkes. The evening also includes a first-ever pyrotechnic show.

Hanukkah, which means “dedication,” celebrates a miracle that occurred when the Jews rededicated their holy temple nearly 22 centuries ago.
