California Volunteers, California Emergency Management Agency and County of Los Angeles Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will serve as co-hosts of "Implementing Youth Preparedness Into Your Organization," from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at Park East Community Center, California Room, 13234 E. 166th St. in Cerritos.
This youth disaster preparedness workshop is free of charge and open to school program directors, private school administrators, after-school program leaders as well as members from non-profit and faith-based organizations representing FEMA Region IX that includes California, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada and Guam.
The workshop will introduce the attendees to a curriculum on emergency preparedness. All attendees will receive a "How to Guide" for developing and implementing disaster preparedness programs in their area in addition to a catalog of youth preparedness resources.
