Romanian Film Fest at New York’s Lincoln Center From Nov. 30-Dec. 6

The sixth Romanian Film Festival is scheduled to begin on Nov. 30 and conclude on Dec. 6. The festival, organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, has been moved from TriBeCa to New York’s Lincoln Center for the first time.

The festival will pay tribute to the work of two leading figures: the director, writer and actor Liviu Ciulei, and Radu Muntean, one of the most prolific exponents of the so-called Romanian New Wave of the last decade.

That recent blossoming has produced award-winning films like “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days,” “The Death of Mr. Lazarescu,” “12:08 East of Bucharest” and “If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle,” all of which won prizes at the Cannes Film Festival.
