Delhi Hosts Literature Fest From Dec. 16–17

Samanvay: IHC Bharatiya Bhasa Mahotsav, a two-day literature festival has been organized at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi from Dec 16–17, 2011.

The festival will bring more than 60 award-winning writers to the Indian capital to discuss issues vital to the growth of contemporary Indian literature. The inaugural session will debate "Is There an Indian Literature"- in this age of global concerns.

The session will feature celebrated literary personalities like UR Ananthamurthy, Kunwar Narain, K. Satchidanandan, Lakshman Gaikwad, Dalip Kaur Tiwana, Om Prakash Valmiki and Ashok Vajpeyi.

The second day of the festival will host literary discussions on "Urdu: Death of Mushayara," "Malayalam: Autobiographies from the Margins," "Punjab: Dalit Love Poetry," "Assam: Challenges for Women Writers," "Tamil: Women Writing the Body," "Bengali: Poetry and Popularity” and "Hindi: Search for Readers."
