Arizona Youths to Perform in Macy’s Parade on Nov. 24

The Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Phoenix young people from Arizona will march in the legendary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 24, 2011.

Participants in the Arizona State University Gammage-sponsored Camp Broadway program, they will join 118 other young people nationwide, dancing and singing around the ZhuZhu Pets “Zhu-niverse” float featuring singer Savannah Outen.

Selected from more than 1,000 auditioners nationwide, they will perform “There’s No Place Like Here” from the direct-to-DVD movie “Quest for Zhu.”

In addition to appearances in the annual Thanksgiving parade, Camp Broadway participants will also perform with the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and appear in Broadway on Broadway, an annual free concert in Times Square.

This year, while visiting New York during Thanksgiving week, the Arizona young people will also experience the NBC television rehearsal prior to the parade.
