SRK's RA.One Opens in 5000 Screens Worldwide on Diwali

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One is all set to be the biggest Bollywood release ever opening in approximately 5000 screens worldwide. In India alone, the sci-fi flick will occupy over 3500 screens on Diwali.

More than 90% screens are reserved for SRK's superhero flick in multiplexes across India. On 500 screens, it will be in the 3D format.

RA.One boasts of about 3,500 special effects shots, while James Cameron's Avatar had only 2700, as per reports.

Made at an ambitious budget of Rs 150 crore ($30 million) RA.One is the second most expensive film in the history of the Bollywood industry after Rajinikanth’s Enthiran (Rs 190 crore).

Southern megastar Rajinikanth plays a cameo in the film, cementing the support of millions of his fans.

Filmmaker Karan Johar gave big thumbs up to the film and the initial response pouring in from film fraternity has been largely positive.

The event's telecast rights have been sold to the TV channel for a Rs 10 crore. Satellite rights of the film have been sold for Rs 35 crore, while distribution rights have been sold for Rs 77 crore.
