Area walkers and runners are invited to join the 14th annual Great Pumpkin Race on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011. The annual event offers families and walkers a 1-mile run/walk that begins at 8:30 a.m., while serious runners can race in a 4-mile Subway Challenge Series competition that begins at 9 a.m.
The race begins and finishes at the Whipple-Dale Centre. All proceeds from The Great Pumpkin Race benefit Stark DD Special Olympics. Participants can register for the race online at www.ohiochallengeseries.com, no later than noon on Oct. 28.
Entry forms can also be downloaded from the Stark DD web site at www.starkdd.org and mailed to the Great Pumpkin Race, Stark County Board of DD, 2950 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708.
Mailed registrations must be received by Oct. 27. Participants may register the morning of the race for an additional cost.
