Golden Globe 2013: Day-Lewis, Chastain Win Best Actors

EFT Report, Los Angeles: English actor Daniel Day-Lewis and American actress Jessica Chastain were named the best actor and actress in a motion picture (drama) respectively, at the 70th Golden Globe awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Day-Lewis has won the honor for essaying US President Abraham Lincoln in historical drama "Lincoln," while Chastain has been recognized for her role as Maya, an intelligence officer, in Kathryn Bigelow's spy thriller "Zero Dark Thirty."

Other nominees in the best actor (drama) included Richard Gere (Arbitrage), John Hawkes (The Sessions), Joaquin Phoenix (The Master) and Denzel Washington (Flight).

Chastain competed with talents like Naomi Watts (The Impossible, Rachel Weisz (The Deep Blue Sea), Helen Mirren (Hitchcock) and Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone), for the best actress (drama) trophy.
