Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati Resigns

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati resigned on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 following the defeat of her Bahujan Samaj Party in the assembly elections.

The Samajwadi Party emerged victorious and is expected to stake claim to form government.
